BE A BRIDGE-BUILDER

Be empowered to accompany Christians
from other traditions
and build the Kingdom of God

One of the most remarkable Christian developments at the onset of this new millennium has undoubtedly been the emergence of partnerships between Catholics and Protestants for the purpose of evangelisation. As encouraging as this collaboration has been, it has also given rise to a number of complex questions.

*Hand-in-Hand Seminar run in Milan, Italy by Kerygma

The seminar, 'How to walk hand-in-hand when you don't see eye-to-eye' which was developed by our Kerygma founders - Bruce Clewett and Rob Clarke - has helped many on both 'sides' to see ways of moving forward together with hope in the Lord.

It seeks to empower Christians to pursue relational unity and collaborate to build the Kingdom of God, in a climate of increasing openness between Catholics and Christians of other traditions.

*Charles Ariston

The seminar will be presented by Charles Ariston, the Co-Leader of the YWAM Canberra base and Cassius Soares, the National Coordinator for 'Kerygma' in Australia. Charles is an Evangelical Protestant and Cassius is a Roman Catholic. In the course of the seminar, you will hear the story of how God led the founders of Kerygma to foster relationships between Catholics and Protestants, as well as our own experiences and learnings on this journey.

Through this seminar we want to empower participants with:

Understanding that it’s possible to work together to build the Kingdom of God.

Encouragement at what God is already doing in various places to build unity.

Honest and helpful ways of approaching doctrines and practices where we have differences, that build understanding and respect for each other.

Recognising and acknowledging what the 'other' brings to the table, that can enrich us.

Celebrating what we share in common, walking together in all things, working together in some things.

In addition to presentations, there will be times of prayer and fellowship, Q & A, and small group exercises, to put "feet" on what is being shared.

The full seminar is usually run over two half days on Friday and Sunday and a full day on Saturday.

The schedule can be adapted to suit the needs of participants.

Enquiries

If you are interested in hosting a seminar for your group, please do reach out to us.

The group can be Catholic, Protestant or a mixed group. We have found mixed groups to be very enriching as it creates the opportunity to take a step toward getting new perspectives, to better understand one another and build relationships with one another, ‘on the spot’.

Please note that this seminar is designed for those who desire to build relational unity between Catholics and other Christians and would like to learn more about this area. It aims to come alongside people - whose hearts have been prepared by the Spirit in this regard - to encourage them in following this call and help them navigate some common obstacles that people encounter on this journey. Some of the specific issues that are addressed during the seminar, can be tailor-made for each group as needed.
