About the event

Each year the churches of Whitehorse in Melbourne, embrace our city in a week of intentional prayer as we walk the streets and pray together. You can pray with a friend, walk and pray alone, form a group, or attend one of our gatherings throughout the week.
More than anything else, our city needs God. So why not make a plan to step out and pray together. Prayer walking moves us out of our church buildings, resisting the temptation to stay inward-focused, and stirring us to keep the mission front and centre. It engages all our senses, rousing us to cry out to God – as we walk with defiant hope into every crack and crevice of our cities

Join us this year from Oct.13th-19th, prayer-walking the city of Whitehorse, or wherever you live in Melbourne.
We’ll be walking and praying for the people in our community.
It’s simple: just pray as you walk—around your neighborhood, your workplace, school route, or local shops. Whether you're walking alone or with a friend, you can turn your everyday steps into powerful, purposeful prayer.
You can even meet up with others from our church and walk together. Or if you're part of a small group, consider prayer walking as a group around where you normally meet that week!
Click HERE for more details and resources to support your prayer walking and learn where you can participate in various prayer walks happening around Whitehorse during the week.
If you're new to prayer walking, here's a resource from 24x7 Prayer which will give you a simple introduction to get started.
It's a great way to pray for our community, which you can continue to do throughout the year.
During the week, on Wednesday, October 15th, you’re invited to join a special Prayer Walk that St. Benedict's Catholic Community is organising around Gardiners Creek Reserve, which runs alongside Deakin University.
Together with other churches across Whitehorse, we’ll be walking and praying for students and educators in our council area. We will meet at Bennetswood Bowling Club Carpark, 179 Station St, Burwood VIC 3125 at 6.30 pm for some instructions, followed by a prayer walk in small groups till 7.30 pm. If you are joining us, could you please let us know HERE as it will help us prepare enough materials for those joining us on this prayer walk.
And if you can't join us for this particular prayer walk, we invite you to please prayer walk as you can during this week. Thanks!
